"the community club in Lliswerry"
club history
Lliswerry Llizards FC was incorporated in November 2022 as a Community Interest Company. It was created by four committed parents who were disillusioned with how the junior aspect of some football clubs is run.
Lliswerry AFC offers senior men’s football and plays in the Ardal Southern League. They play at Newport International Sports Village.
Back in the 1990s and 2000s, the old junior section of the club was previously known as Lliswerry Stars.
The committee felt that to launch the new club, a rebranding process was needed. The name change and the new badge reflect a fresh start and renewed sense of identity for the club.
our facilities
The football club needed to find some grass football pitches and a base.
We have proudly partnered with Lliswerry High School.
Their excellent facilities, including pitches and sports hall, are perfect.
We have plenty of space for our ever-expanding football club.
We use the grass pitches at the school for training and matches throughout the summer, autumn, winter and spring.
For winter training we utilise the fantastic facilities at Spytty Park (Newport Live) the Gol Football Centre and Llanwern High School.
our teams
The aim of the club’s committee is for the football club to be the focal point of the ward of Lliswerry and neighboring areas.
The football club is affiliated with the Gwent FA and has an excellent relationship with Lliswerry AFC senior club.
For the past 3 seasons we have achieved Silver accreditation from the FAW, which is a fantastic achievement from the club’s committe and excellent volunteers.
We have a great volunteer base, including amazing coaches and helpers.
